On the eve of tomorrow's midweek match against Monza, Napoli coach Massimiliano Allegri spoke at a press conference about his suspension, which came after his comments following the 3-3 draw against Roma.
Allegri's statements
“The post-Napoli-Roma match? “There's not much to say, it's already happened. I can simply say that this morning I decided to give up the appeal. You never know, instead of two match suspensions I'll get four. So let's stop at two. The biggest disappointment isn't the suspension, but not being able to bring home the three points after the good performance. The rest is just idle talk. It's a shame I won't be on the bench tomorrow and in Turin against Juventus, but whoever does sit on the bench will surely do better than me.”
The Azzurri coach continued : “ I didn't hear what Gasperini said. The quotes may be incorrect. I want this matter to be closed; we can't change the suspension and the result now. We have to accept it and work. The fact is that we're behind in the table. We just have to work to try to improve our standings and some of the situations in the match where we're lacking at the moment. Maybe in a month things will have changed, but we need to continue working on these types of performances. We've had several players sidelined: McTominay for two months, Anguissa since the beginning of September, Alisson has been in and out, Neres has been out again, and now Badiashile is out. We need to try to improve the condition of those who have played less.”
