Roma remains at Giovanni Malagò 's side , but the race for the presidency of the Italian Football Federation is entering a new chapter. While Serie A continues to be divided between the current extraordinary commissioner and Adriano Galliani , according to ANSA , the Italian Football Association (Assocalciatori ) and the Italian Football Association (Assoallenatori) are ready to present the candidacy of the former AC Milan CEO.
The official announcement is expected tomorrow , when the two sides are expected to issue a press release confirming their support for the experienced Lombard manager. This breakthrough comes after days of fruitless discussions among the top-flight clubs, still divided between backing the former CONI president , backed by Roma, Napoli, Bologna, and Monza , and Silvio Berlusconi's longtime right-hand man , who enjoys the support of AC Milan, Inter, and Atalanta . Meanwhile, the November 4th deadline is approaching, and the possibility of an alternative candidate to the one proposed by Serie A is increasingly concrete.

FIGC, the weight of AIC and AIAC in the Malagò-Galliani clash
Any initiative by AIC and AIAC would have a significant impact ahead of the federal elective assembly on December 14th. The two parties represent 30% of the federal vote , compared to 18% for the Lega Serie A , which in any case needs 11 out of 20 votes to accredit a candidate . According to reports, neither of the two candidates currently has these votes.
Roma's position, meanwhile, remains one of continuity with Malagò , who was elected president on June 22nd and later became special commissioner following the failed registration scandal . The upcoming consultations between Serie A clubs will therefore be crucial , with the November 4th deadline looming ever closer.
