Leonardo Balerdi has won everyone over at Trigoria , and his future appears increasingly tied to Roma . Arrived on loan from Marseille during the last transfer window, the Argentine defender has gradually carved out a key role for himself in Gasperini 's squad.
As Fabrizio Romano stated on his YouTube channel , both Roma and Balerdi are fully satisfied with the choice made in the summer. The defender's redemption fee ranges between 11 and 14 million euros , depending on whether he makes at least 45 minutes of appearances this season . A difference of around 3 million which, according to the transfer market expert, is unlikely to change the intentions of the Giallorossi club , now determined to focus on the Argentine barring any sensational surprises.
Inter and Juventus had also thought about Balerdi
During his speech, Romano revealed that Inter had explored Balerdi 's profile in the summer but had not pursued further discussions with Marseille , with Juventus instead showing interest in the 99-born player between 2024 and 2025.
Roma ultimately won , and are now intent on buying the Argentine center-back, one of Gasperini 's best players so far. It remains to be seen which of the two figures stipulated in the agreement with Marseille will be applied.
